She cocks her head to the side
taking in with bulging darting raisin eyes
the black flecks on her white breasts
chocolate wings closed by her side.

She parts her beak,
kissed lightly by pistachio,
freeing a tiny tongue.
Lifting her head up
she lets out a plaintive cry.

A winged narcissist she is,
the brahminy kite.
