An overcast sky. Devoid of the golden hour glow. Alumni engaged in a game of volleyball. Across the grounds, cricket, football, mostly cricket. Pedestal with a flag pole. Two girls studying, sitting on the steps. In uniforms, its shade, zaffre. At the back, a building in ruins. Possibly an anglo-vernacular school, they say. Chipping cream paint. Beneath it, its original apple red. Crumbling structure. More empty space than walls. A black cat freezes. The green looks greener. Inside the main building, the top floor is abandoned. Dust-coated broken benches. Cobwebs heavy with grime. Shafts of light beam through glass. High roofs. An overlap of european and vernacular elements.
