crouching
moving
child shadow
within
long shadow
within
old shadow.

flailing
hands
feeling
skyblue windows
milkysap tree
icecold ghosts.

tracing
fingers
indigo
glass pregnant:
living snow
buzzing bees.

inhaling
caverns
mustylined
tube twist
crayon pillar
making lips.

flowing
life
whitelaced
satinsashed
sea streaming
face buried
cotton shoulders
birthday baby.

whistling breath
beheading
flames whoosh
three candles stand
dead.

green metal, sun warmed
paint chipping, stripping an old brown

legs around the pole
frock gathered up, ass barely covered

shimmying up to the rub of steel
a shot of tingle through the spine

bar horizontal, anatomy vertical
swinging, flying higher

a second in space, an astral frame
hardened callouses peel, palms on burn

slipping, steadying, swinging again

shoebox of sepia smiles

summer nights of mangoes soothed with milk, sprinkle of cinnamon

sand piles, sparkly aqua minerals

tiny pink flowers kissing pavements

blinking touch-me-nots, fallen clusters of liquid buds

soft comfort of apple cake

chalk dust, play clay

ashtrays, cigarette stubs

wooden giraffe on wheels, girl in green

earthworms, ladybirds, powdery butterfly wings

stolen elfin doll, mostly blue globe

luscious maroon lipstick

soft scent of a faraway evening in paris

stories traced on water

airy castles, dream fragments

sifting through a shoebox of sepia smiles –

broken, true, hopeful, fading.
